InSilicoLab Features

InSilicoLab Feature

These features are exclusive to Portrai InSilicoLab.

Portrai InSilicoLab extends Portrai Explorer with advanced analysis capabilities designed for professional spatial transcriptomics research workflows.

What is InSilicoLab?

InSilicoLab is Portrai's cloud-based spatial transcriptomics analysis platform. It combines the visualization power of Portrai Explorer with server-side computational analysis tools, enabling:

  • Differential expression analysis - Compare gene expression between cell populations
  • Statistical testing - Rigorous statistical methods with multiple testing correction
  • Scalable computation - Server-side processing for large datasets

DEG Analysis

Differential Expression Gene (DEG) analysis allows you to identify genes that are significantly differently expressed between two or more cell populations.

Key capabilities:

  • Define comparison groups using subsets
  • Handle overlapping populations
  • View results as heatmaps, volcano plots, and data tables
  • Create signatures from selected result genes
  • Filter by statistical significance (FDR)
  • Filter by expression direction (up/down-regulated)
  • Manage results (rename and delete saved analyses)
